What "transfer" means

Ownership transfer is the process of changing the registered owner of a vehicle in the green book. It is completed at the Department of Land Transport (DLT). The seller and buyer (or their representatives) must be present with the required documents. Once complete, the green book shows you as the legal owner.

What to confirm before transfer day

• Seller is the legal owner (name matches green book)
• All documents are complete and consistent
• Residence certificate or embassy letter is valid
• Address on your documents matches
• Transfer forms are correctly filled

• Missing residence certificate or expired documents
• Address mismatch between documents
• Seller documentation incomplete
• Green book or transfer forms have errors
• Seller not available or not the legal owner
